Playing is learning too.

How many of you love watching your young ones learn even if they think they are just playing?

I absolutely love watching my oldest son look through his picture books and ask, “what’s that?”. Now he may only be able to say some of the words but if you ask him where a certain picture is he will definitely point it out to you and say, “there it is!”. In those moments that he is showing me where each picture is when I ask I can’t help but smile. It’s amazing watching his head spin while he is learning all the new words and what each word is associated with.

Learning doesn’t have to be reading picture books, it can be just playing with his cars or the little people toys. Watching him play with the little people is so much fun because he will put them in the school bus or the fire truck and drive them around or to the fire station that comes with it. He is learning how to play and what each toy does.

My oldest son learns by watching us. He has been watching his daddy use tools for the last few months and now he has his own little tool set and tries to mimic him when anything is broken. It’s so cute to watch him mimic us. Even though we as parents may get mad at them for mimicking us we have to remember to be patient because they are learning. I know I get frustrated at times but sometimes I have to take a deep breath and a step back to remember that he is only learning how to do things.

There are tons of other ways for them to learn like coloring and word sheets as well.

Snuggle in with your little learners with this fun snowman math maze worksheet. For more engaging [preschool] resources, go to Education.com!

The other day he learned how to do his first maze. We may have struggled a bit because he just wanted to color all over it but I went through the website and there are so many cute things perfect for each age. They even have different worksheets for each holiday. I can’t wait to do each holiday worksheet. Down below is the links to the worksheet with an answer key. Have fun with it!

Not only are they learning but they get lots of quality time spent with you. Your also making memories that will last a lifetime. Enjoy teaching them because they are only young once. Until next time go enjoy life!
